Microsoft turned its OpenAI partnership into the fastest enterprise AI franchise: Azure hosts frontier training and serving, Copilot spreads models through Office and GitHub, and its own Maia silicon and Fairwater data centers push down the stack. Under the October 2025 restructuring agreement it holds roughly 27% of OpenAI's new corporate entity (as reported), alongside long-term Azure commitments. Capital spending ran near $80B in fiscal 2025, overwhelmingly for AI infrastructure.
