Every chip below 7 nm passes through an ASML extreme-ultraviolet lithography machine; no other company on Earth can build one. Its ~$200M+ High-NA EUV systems are the tool for the next nodes, and Dutch-US export rules that keep EUV out of China are the sharpest instrument in the chip war. ASML is, by common consent, the most irreplaceable company in the supply chain.
