Fairwater in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin (on the site once planned for Foxconn's LCD plant) opened in 2025 as what Microsoft called the world's most powerful AI datacenter: hundreds of thousands of GB200-class GPUs on a flat NVLink/InfiniBand fabric, closed-loop liquid cooling with minimal water draw, and a second Fairwater announced for Atlanta with the sites linked by an AI WAN into one distributed supercomputer. Total Wisconsin commitment: $7B+.
