CoreWeave repurposed GPU-mining expertise into the largest AI-specialist cloud: first to market with each NVIDIA generation, debt-financed against GPU-backed contracts, and listed in March 2025 in the sector's signature IPO. Microsoft and OpenAI (contracts reported above $22B cumulatively) dominate its revenue; its attempted $9B purchase of landlord Core Scientific was voted down by that company's shareholders in late 2025.
