Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)

Technology Power

Factory-built reactors sized for campuses — promised for ~2030.

You're looking at a technology record: a building block of AI hardware — what it does, who makes it, and which chips and systems use it.

SMRs shrink reactors to 15–345 MW modules meant to be factory-produced and sited next to demand — the design point of a data-center campus. Google (Kairos), Amazon (X-energy) and Switch (Oklo) have signed fleet-scale agreements, but no commercial SMR operates in the West yet: every deployment date is a target, and the 2030s will test whether the model delivers.
