Power Project SMR Program Under construction (demo) Oak Ridge, Tennessee, US

The first Gen IV construction permits in the US — and Google's 500 MW order.

You're looking at a power record: a real power plant or energy deal — who owns it and which AI buyer it feeds.

Kairos Power's Hermes demonstration reactors at Oak Ridge hold the US NRC's first construction permits for a Generation IV design (fluoride-salt-cooled). Google's October 2024 master agreement — up to 500 MW across a fleet, first unit targeted ~2030 — was the first corporate order book for SMRs, TVA purchasing Hermes 2 output.
