Moore's Law & Its Afterlife
Transistor scaling slowed; the industry routed around it.
You're looking at a concept explainer: what this term means in plain English, and the records it ties together.
Classical Moore's Law — transistor density doubling every two years at flat cost — has bent: nodes still shrink (N2, 18A) but each is costlier, and Dennard power scaling died long ago. AI performance now comes from the workarounds: bigger dies to the reticle limit, chiplets and advanced packaging, lower precision, and rack-scale integration. That is why packaging (CoWoS) and power delivery, not just lithography, headline this database.
