Biren BR100

Chip AI Accelerator Historical

The Chinese GPU startup flagship that US sanctions cut off at the knees.

You're looking at a chip record: what this processor is, its key specs, who designs, manufactures and supplies its parts, and where it gets used.

Biren's BR100 — 77 billion transistors, chiplet design, OAM form factor — was announced in 2022 as China's most ambitious GPU. Weeks later the October 2022 US export rules cut it off from TSMC manufacturing above the control thresholds. Biren redesigned cut-down parts and pursued a Hong Kong listing in 2025.

Specifications & key facts

Each figure is labeled by basis: vendor spec, vendor claim, reported, estimate, or official. "Not publicly disclosed" means exactly that — we never invent values.
