Benchmark Hardware

The supercomputer league table since 1993 — now measuring the public sector's slice.

You're looking at a benchmark record: a test the industry uses to measure chips or models — and what it actually tells you.

TOP500 ranks disclosed systems by LINPACK; El Capitan leads at 1.742 exaFLOPS. Its blind spot defines the AI era: hyperscaler and lab training clusters — far larger — never submit, so the list now measures only the visible, mostly governmental, fraction of world compute.
