Ultra Ethernet

Technology Networking

The industry consortium rebuilding Ethernet for AI — 1.0 spec shipped 2025.

You're looking at a technology record: a building block of AI hardware — what it does, who makes it, and which chips and systems use it.

The Ultra Ethernet Consortium (AMD, Arista, Broadcom, Cisco, Meta, Microsoft and dozens more) released its 1.0 specification in June 2025: modernized RDMA, packet spraying and congestion control so standard Ethernet can carry frontier training traffic. It is the ecosystem's collective answer to NVIDIA's fabrics.
