RoCE (RDMA over Ethernet)

Technology Networking

The transport trick that lets ordinary Ethernet move GPU memory.

You're looking at a technology record: a building block of AI hardware — what it does, who makes it, and which chips and systems use it.

RDMA over Converged Ethernet lets NICs write directly into remote memory without CPU involvement — the mechanism underneath every AI Ethernet fabric from Meta's clusters to Gaudi's on-chip ports. Getting it lossless at scale is the hard engineering the Ultra Ethernet effort formalizes.
