Power Project Gas for AI Announced Homer City, Pennsylvania, US

A demolished coal giant reborn as a 4.5 GW gas-powered AI campus plan.

You're looking at a power record: a real power plant or energy deal — who owns it and which AI buyer it feeds.

The Homer City coal plant — once Pennsylvania's largest — was imploded in 2025 to make way for an announced $10B+ redevelopment: up to 4.5 GW of GE Vernova gas turbines powering an on-site AI data-center campus. If built, it would be the largest behind-the-meter gas-for-AI project announced; turbine slots and financing are its open questions.

Specifications & key facts

Each figure is labeled by basis: vendor spec, vendor claim, reported, estimate, or official. "Not publicly disclosed" means exactly that — we never invent values.
