ESM3

AI Model Science Current

A 98B-parameter language model that speaks protein.

You're looking at an AI model record: who built it, what it can do, and the hardware and data behind it.

EvolutionaryScale's ESM3 (June 2024) treats protein sequence, structure and function as one token stream; the team used it to generate a novel fluorescent protein ('esmGFP') far from anything in nature. Open small versions seed academic use; the company spun out of Meta's dissolved protein team.
