AWS New Carlisle (Project Rainier)
Anthropic's training ground: a Trainium2 mega-campus in the Indiana corn belt.
You're looking at a data-center record: a real facility — who runs it, what hardware fills it, and where its power comes from.
The New Carlisle campus anchors Project Rainier — the multi-site cluster AWS built with and for Anthropic. At launch in late 2025 AWS described nearly half a million Trainium2 chips on site, with reporting pointing toward a million chips and ~2.2 GW of campus capacity as phases complete. It is the largest disclosed non-NVIDIA AI deployment and the physical heart of Claude's training compute.
