Superintelligence — systems far surpassing the best humans at essentially everything — moved from Bostrom's 2014 book to corporate mission statements: Meta Superintelligence Labs, Safe Superintelligence Inc, OpenAI's stated pivot. Whether it follows AGI quickly (fast takeoff via AI doing AI research) or slowly, and whether it can be controlled at all, is the deepest disagreement in the field's serious literature.
