Chip AI Accelerator Shipping

Jim Keller's open-stack RISC-V accelerator, sold as cards anyone can buy.

You're looking at a chip record: what this processor is, its key specs, who designs, manufactures and supplies its parts, and where it gets used.

Tenstorrent pairs Tensix AI cores with RISC-V CPUs and — unusually — sells development cards at retail prices with a fully open-source software stack. Blackhole (p100/p150 cards, Galaxy servers) is the 2024–25 generation; the company, led by chip-design legend Jim Keller, raised ~$700M from Samsung, Hyundai and others and also licenses its IP.

Specifications & key facts

Each figure is labeled by basis: vendor spec, vendor claim, reported, estimate, or official. "Not publicly disclosed" means exactly that — we never invent values.
