Meta MTIA v2

Chip AI Accelerator Shipping

Meta's recommendation-inference chip — custom silicon for the ads engine.

You're looking at a chip record: what this processor is, its key specs, who designs, manufactures and supplies its parts, and where it gets used.

MTIA is Meta's inference accelerator for the ranking and recommendation models that drive its feed and ads. Version 2 (2024) tripled compute over v1 within a 90 W envelope using large on-chip SRAM instead of HBM — a different design point from LLM chips, tuned for Meta's own workloads. Training-class successors have been reported as in development.

Specifications & key facts

Each figure is labeled by basis: vendor spec, vendor claim, reported, estimate, or official. "Not publicly disclosed" means exactly that — we never invent values.
